Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebony Rose.
Ebony, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It all started with a whisper. One mundane morning, I was ironing my clothes and God spoke loud and clearly declaring I would be a millionaire. Surprisingly, the million-dollar announcement was not what caused my heart to race, the great news of being a business owner sent my heart into speeds rivaled by NASCAR’s Bill Elliott. In that instance, Ignited Ink was born. The 717, is a reminder of the promises connected to my birthday. Nine years ago, I had no idea what type of business it would be. February 2019, I published MY first book, Spark A Dream, the elation was so euphoric I knew I had to pass it on.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Whew, chile! Smooth where?! The struggle has been more than REAL! I’ve scaled mountains of opposition ranging from lack of start-up capital to Covid-19. Each jagged edge of my journey taught me an invaluable lesson. During the publishing of a project, the platform used for printing TOTALLY changed. The type of formats accepted. CHANGED. The process for uploading files. CHANGED. The submission processes. CHANGED. What am I to do? Tell my author I can’t publish their book?? NOOOOOOOO!! I’ve learned in a sink or swim situation, I’m Michael Phelps. lol So what did I do? I learned five Software’s in three days, I watched every tutorial and YouTube video AND still ran into technical difficulties. The second lesson: in the midst of chaos, stay committed to excellence.
Ignited Ink 717, LLC – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Ignited Ink 717 LLC, is the dream one-stop-shop for authors. We provide book cover designs, professional editing services, marketing material, and creative promotion for a tenth of the price of our competitors. To date, I’m most proud of my first round of authors being local African-American Women. The first book scheduled to be released, ‘I’m Happy’, is an anthology of poetry penned by Sad Renee available July 17, 2020. What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
MAAAAAAYYYYYNNNEEE, honestly experiencing concepts go from thought to manifestation. When I touched the first book cover, I created, I took a moment to pat myself on the back. It was EXACTLY how I designed it.
